Kathryn Perkinson, MSN, RN, CEN
Nursing Director, VCU Pauley Heart Center
As nursing director of the Pauley Heart Center, Mrs. Perkinson oversees the clinical operation of the units providing cardiac patient care within the VCU Medical Center. These areas include the ICU's and inpatient units in the new Critical Care hospital and the Main hospital, as well as the Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab and the Cardiovascular Procedure Unit. She also leads the Cardiac Transplant and Ventricular Assist Device Programs.
Mrs. Perkinson joined the Pauley Heart Center Leadership team in 2011. She is a native of North Carolina and has extensive experience in hospital operations and emergency services in academic and community settings.
Mrs. Perkinson received her BSN from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1979. She completed her MSN at East Carolina University in 1990 and is a member of Sigma Theta.
